Why Teachers Love the Cadenza Method

🎯 Reading-First Approach
Students learn notation in depth before staff reading begins—so they’re confident, not confused.

🎹 Multi-Tonal Music
No more months stuck in C or G! Students explore diverse tonalities early on—great for the ears and the brain.

📚 Age-Neutral Design
Visually mature for teens and adults, yet simple enough for students as young as 4.

🎵 Modern, Expressive Pieces
No babyish tunes—just fun, beautiful music students actually want to play.

🎨 Creativity at the Core
Improvisation and composition are woven in to make music feel playful and personal.

📈 Flexible, Step-by-Step Progression
Structured for success at any pace—students can move quickly or take time to deepen understanding.

🎼 Three Core Levels

  • Level A: Black Keys - Introduces foundations to off-staff notation, rhythm, and hands together playing on the black keys.

  • Level B: White Keys - Expands reading and technique on the white keys while reinforcing pattern recognition through pentascales and arpeggios.

  • Level C: The Staff - Takes students from learning Middle C to playing hands together on the full staff using notes from lowest bass G to highest treble G and including sharps and flats.

🎶 Solfege Integration

Solfege is incorporated throughout the method to help students internalize pentascales and arpeggios while experiencing a variety of tonal centers beyond just C and G. This approach strengthens ear training, making reading and playing more intuitive.

✍️ Theory & Composition Workbooks

Each level is paired with a Theory & Composition Workbook, allowing students to:

✔️ Gain mastery by composing their own original pieces
