The Cadenza Piano Method - Level A: Black Keys - Repertoire (Studio Licensed)
Level A of the Cadenza Piano Method starts at the very beginning with finger numbers and black-key pieces, before students are introduced to the staff. The music is short, patterned, and approachable, giving beginners early success while building confidence at the keyboard.
This level follows a traditional pre-reading format but with a modern, simplified design that works equally well for children, teens, and adults in private or group settings.
Students will learn:
Hands and finger numbers
Off-staff pieces using black keys
Quarter, half, dotted-half, and whole notes and corresponding corresponding rests
Clefs, stem direction, bar lines, measures, double bar line, brace
4/4 and 3/4 time signatures
Skipping-fingers (2 and 4)
Early composition and improvisation on black keys
