The Cadenza Piano Method is an age-neutral, comprehensive beginner method that takes students from reading finger numbers on black keys to reading two-handed music with accidentals on the grand staff—all in just three levels.
Level B builds on the foundation from Level A by introducing the white keys and the musical alphabet. Students begin reading off-staff notation with letter names, learn white-key arpeggios and pentascales, and explore both major and minor tonalities using solfege. By the end of Level B, students will have a solid grasp of keyboard geography and be ready to read alphanote music in different hand positions.
What students learn in Level B:
The musical alphabet
Pentascales: C, G, Dm, Am
Arpeggios: C, G, F, Dm, Am, Em
Major and minor tonalities (solfege: Do–Sol / Me for minor)
Playing hands together
Dynamics: Piano and Forte
Repeat signs and ties
